ROLES
The roles available include:

  • Registration/Information:
Registration and information volunteers assist with event registrations, allocating bib numbers and answering participant queries. This also covers merch distribution.
  • Course Marshals:
Course marshals will be positioned in various locations along the route. Duties will include directing and supporting participants, providing event information to participants and spectators, and notifying event control if any problems arise.
  • Venue Marshals:
In order to run on time, and in the safest possible manner, we’re looking for volunteers to assist at the start/finish line and in and around the precinct. Other responsibilities include participant parking and officials’ liaison.
  • Aid Stations:
Quite simply, this is providing water (and/or fruit) and encouragement to all of the participants as they pass. This also includes helping to setup, manage, and packdown your designated aid station.
  • Operations:
This role comes in 3 stages: before, during and after the event. Volunteers are sought to assist with setting up (venue infrastructure and/or course signage), managing supplies during the event; and assisting with the packdown of the venue, equipment and signage.
  • Drivers; Cyclists; Runners (Pace/Sweep):
Lead drivers or cyclists may be required to lead out the participants along the various routes or assist at the back.

DATES & TIMES
Volunteers are not simply required for the duration of the event, but also for assistance before and after. This is typically the day prior and the day of the event to help with registrations, setting up the event precinct and packdown. Day before volunteers are typically required 12noon to 5pm (approximately). On the day volunteers typically assist from 4.30am until event close (approx mid-day). Ideally volunteers will have availability on both days to ensure ease of training and involvement with the participants and staff on site. Times required will alter based on your preferred role(s). Please let us know your availability within the registration process.

We thank all our volunteers for their support and encouragement as without them, these events would not be possible.
